I count it a privilege to live just a few miles from Snoqualmie Falls,  the second most visited tourist attraction in Washington State. I drive nearby almost daily on the short commute from my home in North Bend, Washington to my office on Snoqualmie Ridge. Thus, I have experienced these fascinating falls during every season and every month of the year for many years. I took on this project to compile a month by month calendar review of my favorite photos and I hope you enjoy viewing them as much as I enjoy visiting these fabulous falls. Here are a few facts about Snoqualmie Falls you may not know:

At nearly 270 feet, Snoqualmie Falls is higher than Niagara Falls. Snoqualmie Falls is home to the world’s first underground electrical power station, ca. 1890’s. Water diverted from the river above the falls exits the ca. 1890’s power plant, tunneled through solid rock, to the right of the falls below. Snoqualmie Falls is Washington State’s 2nd most visited tourist attraction, next to Mount Rainier.  Snoqualmie Falls often creates its own weather, particularly when flood stage river flows generate thick misty clouds that may block the view entirely. Enjoy your visit!
